A 3-Day Itinerary
- Direct flight via Silkair
- Accommodation at Residence 101
- Packing essentials:anything to fend off the hot sun - sunblock, cap, umbrella; tees and long pants for visiting the temples (the attire in Cambodia is relatively conservative); comfortable walking shoes
- Transport: fortunate to have Aunt Gloria's friend Henry, a Singaporean businessman living in Siem Reap, to drive us around. Looking for hardy and stylish German-made luggage? Check out Henry's Rimowa shops when you are in Siem Reap or Phnom Penh.

Day 1
Pomelo Salad and Fried Spring Rolls
Fried Khmer Noodles
Amok Fish, Grilled Eggplant, Coconut Curry (Chicken)
Mum and Aunt Gloria enjoying lunch
Angkor Temples
The entire complex is huge! It is quite impossible to cover all the temples within a day, especially in such warm weather conditions. Hence it is advisable to purchase a 3-day ticket (US$40) to explore the temples.
We first bought a 1-day ticket (US$20) intending to cover Bayon, Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat, check out our mugshots ;)
Deities and Demons lining the sides of the entrance to Bayon
Standing in the exact center of the walled city, Bayon represents the intersection of heaven and earth.
The intricate carvings at Bayon
Bayon is known for the huge stone faces of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara
Long walls depicting bas-relief scenes of legendary and historical events
Ta Promh, the 'Tomb Raider' temple, enclaved by centuries-old roots and vines
Trees tower overhead, their leaves casting a greenish pall over Ta Promh
Be like bamboo - bend but don't break
Ruins only enhances the ethereal atmosphere
Perfect site for mediation
Lacking energy, we are saving another day for the majestic Angkor Wat.Onwards to charge our batteries at Amok Restaurant.
Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimps
Khmer Lok Lak (Chicken), Tom Yum Soup, Khmer Fried Rice
Amok Degustation
Stay tuned for more insights of Siem Reap
