Shanghai Itinerary for Family

sorry for my missing presence! my family came over to SH on 10 March, Sat to visit me and fatten me up somemore!

photos are with Mummy dearest and Stefan, so wait patiently for them to upload onto FB！

this entry shall detail the itinerary i designed for my family for your reference :)

10 March, Sat
Arrival at Shanghai Pudong Airport 6.25am

I booked rooms at 七重天宾馆, along the 南京步行街. it is located in btw 2 MRT stations (Line 2): 人民广场 and 南京东路. but i personally feel its nearer to 人民广场

Good location and cute bellboy! haha but hotel room is small and the walls are really thin.

(i) 七宝古镇:
MRT: 七宝(line 9)
This is an ancient town inside shanghai, it has a lot of 小吃.
MUST TRY: tang yuan , xiao long bao, 1litre bubble tea

was bit too ambitious to bring my sleepy family to 七宝, especially on a sat when you have to fight the crazy crowd of overzealous chinese tourists...

managed to let them try the 南翔小笼 - the original and the 蟹粉ones

(ii) cabbed back to the hotel to let Mummy and 婆婆 nap
took Stefan and Shania to 1930s 风情街 (Exit 2 of 人民广场 MRT) and treated them to Lilian egg tart and cheese tart!

(iii) Dinner with Uncle Joseph at 全聚德
- felt it was not the authentic 全聚德 restuarant, but to savor 北京鸭 once more... yum...

after dinner-coffee + dessert at 田子坊: this small jap cafe called dan's
tho Uncle Joseph proudly exclaimed this cafe has been featured in many SH listings, the prices are not exactly value-for-money for the quality of the dessert
my tiramisu was mostly sponge-cake instead of the bailey-infused cream... :(

11 March, Sunbooked a Hangzhou 1 Day trip with 米胖.com
(i) Hangzhou Day Trip
游玩：船游西湖, 观三潭印月、苏堤春晓、参观江南丝绸, 黄龙洞, 龙井问茶（约30分钟）、飞来峰, 灵隐寺, 结束愉快行程。

the bus ride was insanely long! and it definitely took its toll on my family. plus i felt the stupid shopping sites took up way too much time that could have been better utilized on leisurely strolling the 西湖 or 黄龙洞...

it was close to 9pm by the time we reached back 人民广场, managed to have a warm hearty dinner at 来福士 Raffles City (Exit 15) 面馆 at Basement 1
enjoyed the pomfret fish noodles and the fish 春卷 :)

12 March, Mon
lunched at 外婆家, located at 818 广场 (nearest MRT: 南京西路）
Stefan was atonished at the 3RMB 麻婆豆腐 and happily gulped it up!

(i) Yuyuan Garden (城隍庙豫园老街)- 30rmb admission
MRT: Line 10 Yuyuan Garden
MUST TRY: Kobayashi Cakes

i had made reservations for dinner at 海底捞 at 静安区北京西路1068好3楼（近江宁路）[MRT: 南京西路] 021-62589758/62589750
but Mummy dearest on her campaign to fatten me up decided to give the family a treat at Element Fresh (went to the one at 正大广场 so that they can check out the 东方明珠塔）

I LOVE ELEMENT FRESH! HAHA :D
ate the dinner set 248rmb- a 3 course dinner with 3 different pairings of wine... bliss...
for those dessert wine lovers, you might wanna check out Brown Brothers Orange and Flora Muscat!

13 March, Tues
(i) Shopping at Tian Zi fang(田子坊)MRT: Line 9 Dapuqiao

(ii) Bought some massage coupons at lashou.com for Mummy and 婆婆
紫苏玉疗背部 SPA

(iii) took Stefan and Shania to 七浦路服装批发市场
MRT: Line 10 Tiantong Road
they had their 1st taste of Coco-bubble tea!

(iv) Dinner at 湘乐汇(虹口龙之梦店)

(v) Walk along the Bund

(vi) Bought Ichido cheesecake (meant to be a treat for Stefan's belated birthday)

14 March, Wed
Brunch at Mr Pancake 静安区 武定路877号
really enjoyed the breakfast set, rather generous portion :)
( i still cannot believe Macs in SH does not sell hotcakes! )

walked down to 静安寺 - my 1st time there, its really glorious with the modern wood architecture

took the family back to the hotel for them to prepare for their departure...

really enjoyed having them come over to SH; got to eat ALOT and felt more recharged to finish up the remaining half of this internship...
