undoing my mushy brain!

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL AT SHANGHAI JIAOTONG UNIVERSITY!

was looking forward to school as i feared my brain turning to mush soon! haha the prospect of learning and meeting new people, prayed hard that i can make more friends :)

the only downside: i gotta wake super duper early for 830am class... zzz

to get to SH Jiaotong Uni (Xuhui Campus): there are 2 metro stops you can alight from; SH Jiaotong University (Line 10) Exit 4 or Xujiahui (Line 9)

we had to report to the School of International Education which is a building specially set aside for foreign students, saw many many angmohs! :P

entrance of the building but we had to climb the stairs to the 4th floor (classroom is 406) :(

1st lesson of the day: Modern History of China

our lecturer Prof Lei gave us a overview of ancient history as a preview...

rather interesting learning how different periods have distinct societal characteristics, esp the rising importance of business and economics during Song Dynasty!

LUNCH!! yes my stomach was growling angrily by the time our class ended at 1150am!

we were given a lunch card and have to spend time finding the counter to top it up... I WANT FOOD RAWRRRR!

2nd lesson: Economics and Politics of China

our lecturer was this Yoda! hahaha i nicknamed all elderly as Yoda! he's a retired 70+ prof, but he loves to interact with students, esp from Singapore, he kept praising us to the skies, but he did lament that we are very quiet students unlike HK or USA students

perhaps it was the 1st lesson and he wanted us to understand China better as he proceeded to describe the different cities of China; even recommending the attractions, food specialty etc

end of school at 430pm!

spontaneous decision to dinner tgt with newfound friends!

tagged along with Carina, Chun Xu, Michael, Junbao, Lydia to Qibao as they have yet to been there... but unfortunately it was raining slightly... sighhhh

so happy school started off on such a great note! really enjoyed interacting with these fun people! :)
