i have put myself in a very dangerous position this morning - witnessed a pickpocket scene this morning when i was leaving home for the mrt station to get to work. there was a girl walking towards me, and this guy walking behind literally put his hand inside the pocket of her jacket. initially i assumed it was just a couple as Shanghainese couples are very PDA! but then when the guy quickly pulled out his hand upon noticing me witnessing, then i figured smth was amiss. not sure if he did pickpocket anything, but he walked past me, glaring at me all the way.
he even tried to attempt to pickpocket wini who was walking behind me, as i turned around to call out to her 'wini, be careful' and that idiot quickly walked around us again to walk ahead. but he stopped at the junction to keep staring at me....
perhaps it was the rainy weather, as pickpocketing seemed to be the theme of the day. there was a second pickpocket scene on the stairs down to the mrt, did not witness how it happened, only saw a guy hastily climbing up the stairs, escaping the scoldings of the Shanghainese lady whom he failed to pickpocket from, i suppose.
everyone else are so nonchalant about these pickpocketing, its worrying...
i really really miss the safety of Singapore and helpful singaporeans who will go all the way to help nab pickpockets.
Wini related that the pickpockets are most likely migrants from Xinjiang (they do look different from the typical Chinese, abit more Muslim look) Our aunties at home warned us before about their presence in our neighborhood, as one of the aunties' suspect her daughter's iphone was pickpocketed...
this just adds on to my blacklist on China...
gotta be more alert later tonight on the way home...
praying God will protect and keep us safe!!!
