Temple Run in Siem Reap, Cambodia (Part 2)

Day 2

Healthy breakfast at Residence 101

Rented a bicycle at Backpackers' Hostel for US$1 (valid till 8pm) to cycle around town. Found out that you can also rent a bicycle from Residence 101 for US$2.

Passed by a popular bakery, ice cream parlor and restaurant - Blue Pumpkin

The Royal Garden

A popular temple besides the Royal Garden

The garden that is maintained by Raffles Hotel

Lunch at Haven Training School

Really admire how several organisations in Siem Reap are dedicated to supporting disadvantaged youth, and I do hope to do more in future :)

Soba noodles with shrimps

Salt and pepper Calamari

Topped off with fresh coconut juice, especially in this heat

Look-see at Sarai, our next-door neighbor

Adore the Moroccan design of Sarai

Strolling right outside Pub Street area

Bemused by this scene of innocence at play

Wonderful dinner at Il Forno, a small cosy italian restaurant in Pub Street area

Cheese platter

Handmade tagliolini

Marcio, the friendly restaurant manager, treated us to a complimentary shot of limoncello, supposedly to aid with our digestion lol

Massage at Temple Massage, just opposite Il Forno (head, shoulders and back massage  US$10; 30 mins foot massage US$8)

Drinks at the Yellow Sub - owned by fellow Singaporean, Joey

My favourite Mojito for a perfect ending to the night :)

Day 3

Hearty American breakfast at Residence 101 (my new quirk - squeeze a bit of lime juice and drizzle some honey into your cup of tea)

Lunch at Rohatt Cafe

Khmer fried rice with fermented fish

A prominent watermill at King's Road

We hired a tuk tuk service from Residence 101 for two-way transport to Angkor Wat (US$15). Ask for Hoi, our friendly driver!

Finally, a visit to Angkor Wat, the earthly representation of Mount Meru (the Mount Olympus of the Hindu faith and abode of ancient gods).

Do allocate at least 1.5 - 2 hours to take in the grand scale of Angkor Wat.

Crawling up the steep steps

Hiding in the shade for a brief moment of contemplation

Time to regroup at Raffles Hotel. Check out the vintage 1929 lift! Could not help but ask for a ride up and down lol

Pre-dinner drinks at Elephant Bar

Then its home sweet home :)

Till the next adventure xoxo
